PointsNerd Posted November 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2023 (edited) Hi Folks, I tried a search but didn't find anything that covers off the questions I had with transfers to the HAL Cruise Terminal. We will be into Fort Lauderdale a little early to make sure we don't miss our cruise so we will be getting a rental car from the airport. We will be returning the rental car the day of embarkation back to the FLL airport. My question is how easy is it to get an Uber from FLL to the HAL Cruise Terminal and how much is it? I ask because I use Uber a lot and I have seen a trend where Ubers are refusing short or low far rides but given that the airport is so close to the terminal, and Fort Lauderdale is a cruise port ... maybe this isn't an issue. If it is an issue, would you suggest any alternative? Edited November 27, 2023 by PointsNerd

Agree. The mods will probably move it. There is an estimator feature on the Uber website. Otherwise, taxi, or take rental car shuttle to airport and taxi there. Rare DesertRat46 Posted November 27, 2023 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2023 We used Ubrer from airport hotel to FLL cruise terminal with no problem last spring.
Rare POA1 Posted November 27, 2023 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2023 From the airport to the port, a taxi is the easiest, and probably least cost. We live in Fort Lauderdale, so we have a bit of experience in getting to and from the airport.
Torquer Posted November 28, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2023 A few years ago we rented from Avis at the FLL airport when we arrived the day before our cruise. We did some sightseeing, and the next day we returned it to an Avis location at a hotel near the cruise port. They then had a free Avis shuttle to take us to the cruise terminal. BTW, we weren't even staying at that hotel where the Avis was. There was no one-way drop charge for the rental so was extremely efficient and cheap since there was no need for a taxi. I don't know if there are any hotels near the cruise port where you can return a rental car today, but it is something worth exploring.
PalmSprings Posted November 28, 2023 #7 Share Posted November 28, 2023 Budget has a location about a mile from the port. You can pick up your car at the airport and return it to the cruise port location, which has a shuttle that will take you directly to your ship.
