layteacher Posted November 29, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2023 First time on a cruise to the area. Have no idea what to do. We love chilling on the beach and having drinks with possible snorkeling. Like to do a little local shopping. Any suggestions at all? There are so many things that I am overwhelmed. Do not want to do a tour. Rather just enjoy the scenery. Possibly not far from the cruise port. Definitely not a crowded place. It will be during Spring break so I am sure there will be tons at the popular spots. TIA

Many thread discussions on this site. Plenty of “local shopping” on one’s return, around the port area.
lixogab Posted November 30, 2023 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2023 There are 3.5 options for beaches in St Kitts - As suggested by Port Royal, get Marriott Day pass. Most expensive, AFAIR $50 pp for the pass, some snorkeling, even though it's located on the Atlantic side - South Friars bay. About 1/2 mile of pretty nice beach. No off beach snorkeling. Taxi costs $7 pp each way (minimum 4 people, so you may have to share or pay $28) and leaves you at Carambola beach club ($30 for 2 chair and umbrella or $5 pp for use bathroom and showers). Quiet place, usually get crowded pretty fast. There is another bar called Shipwreck with some Rasta vibe. Drinks less expensive than in Carambola, no umbrellas, chairs look to be rescued from an actual shipwreck. Lots of Terds betweeen Carambola and Shipwreck. - Cockleshell beach, Taxi $10 pp each way. Several bars, some of them noisy The 0.5 option is to go to Nevis, but without tour it requires plenty of time and good coordination. Probably will do that some day. There is some shopping in the port area. The owners and workers don't look like locals though.
PORT ROYAL Posted November 30, 2023 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2023 The OP stated beach near port, otherwise one would have given https://bluewatersafaris.com/tour/nevis-beach-getaway/ Then take a walk down the beach to Sunshine’s for the attack of Killer Bees.

PORT ROYAL Posted December 14, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2023 Between Shipwreck and Carambola is a better bet, called Discovery Bech Bar. Bring one’s State or Country Flag (small or large) for permanent display behind the Bar !ink… https://www.facebook.com/discoverybeachbarskb/ Ideal if one is Vegan or Vegetarian, because the Morsi (owner) is Vegetarian (and a talented chef), so he understands. Send a Face message to make a booking, they can also arrange transport. Occasional entertainment is Morsi driving Towels away, when they attempt to park themselves in front of his place. The language is best described a colourfully strong.
Alabaster Cruiser Posted December 14, 2023 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2023 Is Morsi still there? The last time we were there it was closed up. This was before Covid.
