NCL Getaway OV upgrade

I"m on the getaway next month and I see the OV cabins are just $40 more than the insides, which I'm currently booked in.   Are they much bigger than inside cabins?  I do like the darkness of inside cabins, but I find that the curtains (at least in the balcony cabins) are pretty good with blocking out light. I've seen youtube video of OV on the prima/viva and they had couches in them.  Is this standard in all OVs or is that only on the new ships?

thanks

Are they the forward facing OV or the ones on deck 5? If you can get a forward facing one, they are much larger than a typical inside. I don't believe any of them have a couch in the older ships. I don't like to be that low on a ship and depending on the location, you will have deck 6 right above you, which could result in noise.

they are on deck 5.  But my current cabin is also on deck 5.  I'd be switching from one side of the medical center to the other.  thanks for confirming about the couch.  I was blown away by the OVs when I was looking at a prima walkthru and thought maybe all OVs were like that and that I was missing out all these years.

Prima and Viva are of the new class of NCL ships where the standard balcony/ocean view/inside cabins are larger with larger bathrooms than the ones in other classes.

So, be aware when looking at photos/videos of cabins on Prima/Viva … do not assume that all ships have cabins that large.

don't believe any assumptions have been made.  Its why the question is being asked

I was on the Getaway 09/2022, the Casino had put me in a forward facing OV.  I think I was on deck 10? I was in it for most of a day because there was a kerfluffle with my balcony upgrade.  I didn't measure, but it seemed comparable in size to a balcony.  Nice sized bathroom and nothing that immediately raised my hackles except I don't like forward cabins OV or otherwise.
