Dinner tonight in Savor - and here are the night’s menus:

I chose the french onion soup, A had mushrooms, J the bruschetta plus the mozzarella and tomatoes and C had the tostados.  My soup was great, the others all liked theirs as well.  Tostadas is a stretch - it was really three nacho chips with stuff on top but she said they were good.

For our mains, I went with the pan-seared hake on spinach mashed potatoes- it was very good but I’d choose something different next time. C had the fried chicken, A had the bacon wrapped shrimp and J picked the NY Strip again.  To be honest he might eat that every night in the MDR.

Dessert choice for me was tough so……I went with the Crème Carmel. And the vanilla cheesecake from the sugar free menu. You know, so it must be healthy right?

C picked flourless cake and chocolate ice cream. A picked the banana split and J went with the fruit plate.

Food was very good. Service was great but a bit rushed tonight.  And since I missed out on the pretzel bites pic at lunch we returned late night strictly for the purpose of research and delivering that pic. I sacrificed and ate them to make this report complete!

Sorry for the blurry menu pics tonight. I’m going to stop compressing those and edit them a bit more starting tomorrow - they just aren’t turning out well and it’s hard to read the small print.

Thank you for the information. I hope the ‘research’ wasn’t too taxing lol.

A bit off topic but I did enjoy watching my Jayhawks beat the Hoosiers the other day 😜.

@slavens_09 If you had added that Jayhawk part before it would have saved me 500 calories 🙂. But selling my tix to that game paid for a huge part of my cruise! We listened in the car as we drove to NOLA and enjoyed 95% of the game.

Can u post a pic of the Officer board? Deck 10 I believe.
 Favorite Bartender?

Did u go to Sid’s yet?
Once you see the comedian and dueling pianos can u report back?

@ltmguy We went to Howl at the Moon tonight - the pianos - and they were pretty good. Talented keyboard players and the usual rapport with the audience.  I think it’s tough to do that show in an auditorium style seating format - if just doesn’t have the energy of a true piano bar but the music was good and the audience was into it.  A few dancers and plenty of singing along.  I found what may be a new favorite drink too, which definitely added to the night!

Carijillo.  Never getting a mimosa for breakfast again if these are available throughout the ship! Might even take a flask of the Licor43 to Starbucks from now on!

Yea I’ll bet those tix demanded quite a premium price. If you ever get the chance to come down to Lawrence and attend a game at Allen Fieldhouse you will not be disappointed.

Enjoying the review. Looking forward to my first NCL experience in March.

The OBC is a fantastic deal - during pandemic both NCL and CCL were dirt cheap and cashing in on the credit makes 100 shares a bargain if you cruise a bunch.

Yeah, yeah. Dirt cheap then....but what about ME? I bought CCL at $65 long before the plague came.😩 I'd have to cruise until I'm 112 years old to recoup that money!

That experience soured me on cruise line insurance, even though I know it's probably still a pretty good investment. I ought to get NCL's since we plan to mostly cruise from NOLA from here on. We don't sail on Carnival anymore, at least not any cruises from domestic ports.

@PaperSniper4 I fully plan to cruise until I’m 112.  Or just cruise 12 times a year! I’m sure with enough cruisemath I can make it feel financially advantageous to cruise every other week 🙂

Good morning from a drizzly foggy Breakaway somewhere near Roatan.  I’ll admit I’m not a balcony guy. I just don’t spend enough time in the cabin to care about paying extra. But daily coffee on the balcony is nice! WCM just tastes better here for some reason!

30 minute wait for Taste or Savor so will use that time to recap O’Sheehans for lunch.  Same wait there maybe they just always say that timeframe?!

This 30 minutes was for lunch or dinner? What time? We generally eat around 1730-1830 (aka 530pm-630pm). Hopefully the long wait times are later than that.

We arrived around 6:30. Actual wait time was probably 20-25 minutes.

Thanks, must have been for dinner I assume. So we will plan on eating dinner earlier. Better earlier than later for our old digestive systems. 😳

Really appreciate you sharing your cruise! We’re in countdown mode ourselves.

If you happen to breeze thru the casino could you let me know what the minimums are at some of the table games? Especially 3 card poker.

@BornPisces The lowest 3-card I saw last night was $10.  They had Let It Ride at $5.  I didn’t look for blackjack minimums but will tonight along with the rest and report back.

We are leaving on the 31st - Is the temp T-Shirt and Shorts worthy most of the time now? Please keep us informed of temps so I can have an idea for us in a couple weeks! :)

@IamPEBJ It’s been beautiful after we got away from NOLA. We are pool people and have been enjoying swimsuit weather each day so far. Late night activities I still am wearing shorts and short sleeves but bringing a jacket doesn’t hurt. I spend a lot of time watching weather reports for each port the week before I sail…anything earlier is like gambling bc the weather changes so often.  It’s cloudy this morning but I’m by the pool in a swimsuit and it’s very warm.

Breakfast buffet this morning. Many options.  Everything was the proper temperature and pretty good. We don’t normally do the buffet often other than grazing at lunch but would repeat.  To the family who yelled ‘Go Boilermakers!’ at me as I passed thru, I’m arranging for the the washy washy guy to move into your cabin for the rest of the cruise.

Miami Vice over Roatan. Don’t know if I mentioned this earlier but some of the frozen drinks have had such a heavy pour that they’ve had TOO much alcohol and it’s affecting the taste - a bit strong.  Seems so odd to have that problem since normally it’s the opposite. This one was like doing shots and chasing with a tiny bit of slushee.export_0.jpeg.31b4a9dae54769b541b95f644f895e2d.jpeg
