Happy Hayward Posted December 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2023 Hello, Has anyone recently used the free insurance from their commonwealth bank credit card to sail to the Pacific Islands, mainly New Caledonia? We are leaving from Brisbane in January and don't need any problems boarding etc. Many Thanks for any advice or direction, Cheers..

We have used the free insurance with our ANZ Visa card for a cruise to Noumea and Vila. The check-in person just glanced at it and said OK.

Also, if you are travelling from February 2024 you will need to pay for at least $500 of your cruise or return ticket cost to activate. There is an update on their website I was reading this morning.
Flickit Posted December 17, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2023 If you're taking out dedicated travel/cruise insurance make sure you read the fine-print, and make sure your policy actually covers for covid related issues !. Australia Post and Medibank Private both offer very similar 'Cover-More' Insurance, but Aus Post DO NOT cover for any covid related cancelations or amendments, where as Medibank Private does cover for these things, and with the members discount Medibank was only slightly more expensive than Aus Post...
