Athens Post Cruise Excursion and Hotel (Near Airport) Drop Off

My family of 6 will be ending our Mediterranean/Greek Isle Cruise in Athens in June of 2024.  I am looking for an excursion that will pick us up at the port, take us (and our luggage) to see the major sites, and drop of us off at our hotel.  We haven't booked the hotel yet, but would like to stay close to the airport for an early morning flight the next day.  We have done similar excursions after cruises before but haven't found one with good reviews for Athens.  Hotel recommendations near the airport would also be appreciated.  Thank you!

We used Michael Sterianos Taxi tours.  He has large vans that should be perfect and can tailor make a tour where you wish,   We used his company for an overnight to Meteora and it was great.  He also provided us a choice of hotels.   
 

I know there are a couple of large chains at or right at the airport but haven’t stayed there so no recommendations .

The only hotel at the airport is a Sofitel.  It is just a few steps across the street (or a walkway over the street) from the terminal. It has very good accommodations and a more than decent restaurant with a good breakfast. There are other hotels nearby that may have a shuttle to the airport.  Cheaper, but not as convenient.

We use George's Taxi whenever we are in Greece and they are excellent tour and/or transfer providers.  We have done something similar to what you want.  We arrived early afternoon at ATH and had an early morning departure the next day for an island.  We left our bags at the hotel, had GT's pick us up and take an afternoon tour to Sounion and dinner at the beach, and back to the hotel. It worked perfectly.

Do you know if you walk into the airport from the hotel, are there any restaurants in the airport before security check?  In case you want to to wander over the night before your flight?

I think there might have been a fast food place. I don't recall.  After security, yes there are many. But the terminal is only a few steps from the hotel so it won't take you any time at all to check it out.  The hotel does have reasonably priced items in their menus and the food is good. You can take a look at the hotel menus before going across the street to check out the terminal. IIRC, the hotel also has a bar menu at the lounge.
