snorkeling sites for limited-mobility person

Greetings St Lucia experts,

My wife and I will be visiting St. Lucia for the first time in March. My wife has a bad back and she cannot climb stairs, though walks OK on a flat surface. She is a good swimmer and enjoys snorkeling. I searched throughout numerous posts here, and it looks like the best snorkeling sites (near the Pitons) are out of reach, as they either require boat travel (no-no with a bad back, and then stairs to get into the boat) or getting over numerous stairs to access the beach from a vehicle.

Would you recommend an accessible beach with a reasonable snorkeling and not too many lurking boats/tourists? Perhaps the Pigeon Island?

Thanks,

voyager

There are zero stairs involved in accessing Soufriere Beach Park, which has great snorkeling all along the cliff side

Nor any stairs to access Sugar Beach or Malgretoute beach or Anse Chastenet.

90 minutes cab ride to any of them. I'd stick to the beach park, easiest access (you're literally parked on the beachfront), snack bars, rstau9, bar, souvenirs, palapas, clean bathrooms, showers, etc.

There's stairs to the beach at Ti Kaye (Anse Cochon).  Which is not down in Soufriere..

Up north, Pigeon Island has a small but decent reef system. More uneven terrain around the beach area within the park.  Great restaurants inside, bathrooms, ruins, etc.

Small spot of snorkeling outside the park also, flat no shade beach area, local restaurants, etc.

Enjoy

Thanks again for this recommendation. FWIW, I just posted a review on Princess board:
