Credit Card tipping once on board?

Is there an opportunity during the cruise to place the suggested amounts on your credit card? These boards are making me nervous about bringing too much cash. Are you provided with something that tells your waiter, steward, etc., that you did tip?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, there is a form left in your cabin that you can fill out with the suggested amounts and room for anything over that. We've never done it so I don't actually know if you're given anything. Speaking with some crew, they told us that they get it in their next paycheck, not at the end of the cruise.

We added the suggested tips to our onboard accounts on the Century. We received slips for each. There was an option to add additional amounts for anyone we wanted to, but we decided to tip additionally in cash. I always like to write brief thank you cards to go with the tips and included the slips in with the cards.

When adding tips to your onboard account, you'll have to tip at least the recommended amount ($10.50 per passenger per day for non-suite passengers). This includes tips for some employees, such as the assistant chief housekeeper, who some folks might not want to tip.

Thank you for the information. I think I'll wait and put it on my onboard account, tipping over and above the suggested amount, should I wish to, in cash with a note. Glad to hear you get something to let each person know they were left a gratuity. Wonder if you get a slip for each person if you prepay the gratuities before the cruise?

As far as I know, you can still go to the casino and get cash against your shipboard account. Unless it's changed, it shows up as an entertainment item on your itemized statement, and it's all lumped in as one charge to your card at the end of the cruise.

It's sort of the best of both worlds... :)

You can still get up to $2000 per day cash from the casino for use in the casino without a service charge. If asked just say it is for the slots or tables.

If you prepay your gratuities before the cruise, you will also get the vouchers to give to the staff.:)
