Marella Explorer Itinerary Change 16th February

Recommended Posts

Hi all

First time cruiser and poster here. I’ve logged onto my cruise control and I believe the itinerary for my cruise departing Tenerife on 16th February has been changed around and I haven’t been notified. I called Marella and they said if it has then I will be notified.

I was wondering if anybody has had any experience of this, or are on the same cruise, and have been notified. I ask as I have spa treatments and excursions booked. No major deal as I’m sure it’ll sort itself out eventually but I would like to get my ducks in a row. Especially as I’m a little nervous as I’ve spent a lot of money as I’ve booked a suite (my 40th birthday when in Morocco allegedly) and want everything to go well.

Thanks in advance

Welcome PrincessAMC,  sometimes it happens that ports are changed round,  it may be that there are several ships in a port on the same day. Marella should inform you.

It's quite natural to feel a little nervous on your first cruise wondering whether you will like it but all I can say is that most people get hooked!   It's a great way to see the world.   Just go with an open mind and you'll have a great time

Thank you dronnygirl, I am getting nervous about everything including getting unwell before I go, missing my flight, getting sea sick ha ha I’m sure I’ll be hooked too.

Guess I will await the official email from Marella. Think it is more the lack of helpfulness from the call centre, when I could clearly see that it has been changed 😀

I can recommend Stugeron tablets for sea sickness although the ships are very stable.  Having done many cruises I've only had to take tablets twice. They are around £4 in Boots but much more expensive on board

Hi

After reading the post about changing itinerary I have just checked our cruise that is departing from Tenerife on 15th March and the main change is the Sea Day(Dress to Impress)has been moved from day 6 to day 4 which will affect a lot of people who have booked speciality dining for that evening. The running order of several ports has also been changed and like yourself have had no notification from Marella. The itinerary order on Cruise Control has not been changed and I have already booked two speciality restaurants and was going to book a salon treatment for the Sea Day (day6) but glad I haven’t because now it could be day 4 🤦‍♀️

Are you always notified of changes to itinerary by Marella and if so when am I likely to be notified?

Thanks donnygirl, I’ve bought kwells and the sea band things 😀

Liverbird, that’s what has happened to me too. I have cancelled my spa treatment and rebooked for the new sea day as there was only 2 slots left! Hope it all gets sorted for you. Made me laugh when I called them as my fueteventura excursion is now on a day when I’m at la Gomera and they didn’t seem to understand why this would be problematic 😂 Guess they’ll sort that so I’m not too worried, but my spa treatment was important as it’s a birthday gift from my work.

Hi Princess AMC

Just wondering if you have been notified yet of change of itinerary for your cruise on 16th February which obviously impacts on your pre booked excursions because they are now happening on different days 🤦‍♀️.My cruise on 15/3 is now being sold with different running itinerary but yet on cruise control where you book excursions etc it is still the same order of islands as when I booked.I am now also unable to book spa treatments where previously I could 🙈.I have tried to contact Marella without success.

Hi Liverbird,

I called them every day pretty much and I kept getting told the same thing... if there are changes I will be notified... even to the point of them saying they will resend all correspondence to myself (which never came!).

Towards the end of last week I got through to somebody who seemed to understand what my problem was, and she eventually sent me the official updated itinerary.

Have you tried logging out of cruise control and see if it updates? Failing that, keep calling them until you get through to somebody decent!  I really don't have much good to say about Tui, from my experience the last 12 months,

Hi again 🤣

Yes have tried numerous times over the last 2weeks to log in and out without success. It will allow me to book specialty restaurants but not spa/salon treatments and sea day is still saying day 6 not day 4 as now advertised on sale 😤.Sounds like I will have to keep phoning as you did+hope I speak to someone who knows what to do.
Thanks for your help.Hope you have a great cruise+look forward to hearing about it as ours is the same itinerary 😎

Hi

Just wondering if anyone going on Canarian Flavours v4 15/3 on Explorer. We have just received our E Tickets and just as I thought the order of our itinerary has changed from when we booked. The sea day is now day 4 and not day 6 plus some  islands changing to other days. The main problem is that Cruise Control has not been updated so still showing the original itinerary + many people have booked speciality dining restaurants for dress to impress night(Sea day 6) but this has now changed 😤Less than 4weeks for our cruise+ no excursions showing or ability to book spa/salon treatments on any day.My travel agent contacted Tui for an explanation why but unfortunately they didn’t have any answers🙈

Anyone heard anything from Tui?
