Kids, key cards and kids club

Bringing our 8 grandkids (and their parents) on an upcoming Escape cruise. They range in ages 10 to 2 years.  Do they need to carry their key card with them?  How about when they go into the kids club.  Any tips we should know to make their cruise better?  Thanks in advance

I think they need cards when you check them in, the 10 year old can get sign out privileges (sometimes they do outside activities), no kids club for the 2 year old (and no pool/water activities for diapered kids).

On NCL we have not had the kids carry their own cards, but we do keep them on hand for things like signing in and out of club. The first day there will be a sign up where you sign their little waiver. Sometimes they'll open programming that evening. Keep an eye on drop off times. It's been our experience to be there 15 minutes early and wait in line for drop off. Space is limited and can fill quickly, especially when kids are out of school. We haven't been on the Escape so I can't speak to other activities.

Splash Academy will hold their key cards for the kids while they are there. Also they have a great new virtual queue feature in the NCL app which eliminates (or at least shortens) all the lining up. If they have that on your ship, they’ll explain how it works during the sign up session. You can ask them to add both you and their parents as authorized persons for pickup. They will ask for your keycard and a family password which you get to set (e.g. a pet’s name). They’ll have fun!
