To be fair most meals are served with an adequate amount of vegetables. Which in my view isn't the case on european itineraries. The service in the MDR is really high quality and the staff really look after you.

That’s true about the European sailings.  Great to hear the service is good.  We generally find that service is good - and often, great - on MSC.

Agreed. Its polite and not obtrusive and still lets the hard working crew show some of their personality.

You wouldn't by any chance remember what the offerings are on the everyday classics in the MDR would you?

Mainly wondering if they are still doing the Rotisserie chicken for my kids if they don't fancy anything else.

I posted a link to a previous review which has photos of the menus.

Yeah thanks, I did look at that but was a few months ago, was just wondering if things were still the same as I have seen some menus from Seascape posted with a very reduced classics offering (no chicken, Salmon etc)

Thanks for that, they have brought the steak back. That had been taken off on previous menus.

Can't comment on USA Sailings but a steak option (thin) is always on UK sailings on Virtuosa based on the two we did last year.

From what I saw, they reduced the MDR everyday classics options in around Aug/Sep I think it was, looks like they have returned a few of the options though.

We are actually boarding Saturday, are you just doing the 1 week onboard?

Bon voyage.  Are you planning to post about your experiences?  I have a feeling that your cruise will have the alternative week menus (the ones posted here are the same as those posted in the thread that I linked to).

Yes just 7 nights. Would love to stay onboard. The ship has great atmosphere. Unfortunately only have so much annual leave you can take with work and have three other holidays this year...

I'm not usually one for posting reviews but I will certainly try and make an effort to post about my views on some common themes that come up about MSC. We are very laidback easy going people so I don't  feel we will be very critical about much.

They removed that a few years ago (used to be called beef paillard) on Europe sailings and replaced the salmon with ‘white fish’.  This continued for several years (I remember specifically as I’m a picky eater and missed the always available salmon).  Thankfully MSC saw the error of their ways and the beef and salmon reappeared (though the ‘steak’ is not great).

I feel your pain, I get 30 days which is a pretty generous allowance and only have 1.5 left that aren't booked in 🤦‍♂️ (run jan-dec)

You can't add vegetables on seascape.

We had a standing order of very soft steamed vegetables every evening on Seascape  and Seashore in YC restaurant. Appears the price of the fares must dictate the nickel and diming ?

You just can’t help yourself, can you?   So, you pay several thousand more to get some steamed veg in YC (and you needn’t tell me about the YC - I’ve done several sailings around the world in the enclave).

Possibly. Im not in YC so cant comment  - but you're given an adequate amount of vegetables as stabdard in MDR.

Just saying, 'you get what you pay for'. Now if one were to pay high prices and not get something, then there is a real problem and concern for complaining. We pay several thousand now to get all the things listed here.

#1 E muster drill is better

#2 Two cabin cleanings per day

#3 No % charge for gambling if using credit card

#4 No extra charge for can sodas vs fountain drinks

#5 Reserved seating in the theatre for all shows

#6 Complimentary bottled water (not ship distilled with unsanitary reusable bottles)

#7 Reserved or ability to reserve pergola/cabanas on pool deck (avoiding chair hogs)

#8 'Cushioned' pool lounges

#9 Escorts on and off ship avoiding long lines

#10 First to use tenders off the ship at ports that tender

#11 Dedicated restaurant that is so good one need not book Specialty Restaurants

#12 Service that does not involve 2 hours to complete a meal

#13 An attentive butler not hard to find when needed

#14 Cabins ready upon embarkation/ key cards in hand at checkin

#15 Dedicated restaurant OPEN port days

#16 Dedicated buffet to only suite guests

#17 Dedicated pool and sun deck only for suite guests with ample lounges

# 18 All the advantages of a mega ship with the exclusivity of a gated community

#19 walk-in shower not low profile tub/shower combo

#20 No non-suite paying Pinnacle/Zenith/Diamond passengers taking up prime real estate in the Yacht Club

#21 Elevator over-ride key cards for suite guests

#22 Pristine out island with NO bugs crawling all over cabanas

#23 short distance between cabin and restaurant decks

#24 At least a 100 sq ft balcony accommodating a cushioned lounge chair

#25 A reserved table for 2 for all meals in a dedicated restaurant with the same waiters for 'most' every meal

To be fair, ive sailed with MSC 7 times now since October 2022. Ive never once felt intersted in paying for Yacht Club. I think some of the differences folk think between YC and standard may be illusory. But as I've never tried and probably never will, I'll never know.

I dont want this post derailed, and am on vacation so dont have energy but you should recheck the list because with a premium drinks package and what I'm experiencing currently on Seascape (or had on Opera last month) I'm struggling to see much of a difference.

That guy had to be asked a couple of times not to discuss YC on their review as the OP was sharing a non-YC experience.

We will not hold your youth and inexperience against you. We have done multiple sailings around the world when we were in 'steerage'. Now we are focusing on suites on the world's finest cruise ships and comparing. It is something we never afforded ourselves....luxury. For us it's the final frontier.
