How to do paradise island Atlantis

Is the beach at Atlantis "public"? We are only in port for 6 hours, so I don't want to spend too much time travelling.

I'm thinking that we could go to Atlantis, do the Dig tour, then stay and use the beach - can we just stay in front of Atlantis, or is that private and we need to move somewhere else?

Thanks!!

You can't use Atlantis Beach, but you CAN use the Public Beach just beyond the RIU next door. You can rent a chaise and umbrella.

At the comfort suites what is the pass to the Atlantis? If it is a bracelet are the children ones different then the adults ones?

The bracelets are the same for adults and children. Everyone needs a bracelet, and you are allowed up to 4 per room. Each person must go to the Towel hut at Atlantis with the card from Comfort Suites to get their bracelet.. Bracelets are put on snuggly (so they can't slide off) and have to be broken or cut off, so you can't pass them around.

Bracelet counts are computerized, so you can't get additional bracelets if you lose one.

These are not used for charging or to identify ages for drinking.. just that you are allowed on the property.

There's a snak shack on the public beach.. but no restrooms. It's just a nice stretch of open beach with a few independent vendors selling water/renting chaises etc.

So could we use the public beach instead of doing the jitney and walking thru the wyndham lobby? I just wanna lay on the beach and swim in the ocean....waaaaaa  lolol Whats the advantage/disadvantage to the public over the trip thru the hotel?

Thanks

Bev :)

The difference is mainly amenities.

The hotel will have restrooms, bar service, free chaise loungers, pools, outdoor showers and food service.

The Beach at Cable Beach is clean and cleared every day. The water is calm and crystal clear. Great for sitting at waters edge or with small children. (You can use a float in the gentle waters)

There's shady areas, palapas and sometimes music by the pool.

The Public beach on paradise Island is a beautiful stretch of beach, which is not maintained. There are no amenities (except that you can sometimes sneak into the all-inclusive RIU when Security is lax) to use the restrooms, and there is a makeshift snak shack on the beach. Locals will go by selling rum in a coconut or water, and there's locals selling necklaces, pareos and t-shirts nearby. You can rent a chaise ($10) and Umbrella ($20) for the day.

This beach usually has rougher surf, and is great for those looking for a little more water fun. You'll get knocked around a bit getting in and out of the water.. but some people love this type of beach. This is NOT good for little ones playing at waters edge.

Watersports are available at either beach. (jetskis, parasailing, bananaboat)
