Rare jkbec101 Posted January 31 #1 Share Posted January 31 For those who have been on the POA recently. Did you feel that you needed to upgrade to the unlimited WIFI or was being in US waters and at US ports enough? I realize that there are times where reception will suck like in between ports, but how was reception on port days?
Ellis1138 Posted January 31 #2 Share Posted January 31 It will depend on your carrier, but Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile generally have good signal in ports and on the populated parts of the islands. (You might lose signal in places like Road to Hana, Haleakala, Waimea Canyon, etc). The general consensus is that it's not worth upgrading the PoA wifi. It isn't Starlink and is very slow. Also, you'll be asleep overnight (or should be) during the times when you will not have a signal from land.
cruiserchuck Posted February 2 #3 Share Posted February 2 We have T-Mobile, and were always able to get a signal while docked, and usually got a signal for about an hour or so after the ship left port.

You will not have any phone signal once you move out to sea from each port. You are in port every day. You have two overnight port calls. I think that most people can survive being disconnected for a few hours each night.
