Given that magnets can "wander," depending on that to identify your cabin (or even worse to use for your child to identify your cabin) seems very risky.

 

I've also never understood how since they are flush against a door, unless your cabin is right at the entrance to the elevators, you could be wandering a lot of hallways until you find your magnet.
