what is the best way-transportation wise to get to Atlantis from the port

Atlantis is a good taxi excursion to kill 2 hours in Nassau. Take the taxi, see the amazing floor to ceiling windows looking into a fabulous underwater tropical fish habitat. It really is worth the view.

Nassau, nicely done.

Head back to the ship for lunch and multiple cold beverages.

When we were in Nassau Facebook Zuckerberg's mega yacht was tied at the wharf and it was fun watching the crew preparing to host guests. The crew had sneakers the same color as FB blue. Pretty funny.

I hadn’t considered just taking a taxi over to Atlantis to explore the property.  Just to confirm you can look at the aquarium they have without any fee?  What else is there to see just by walking through?

Also, is there anything else over in that general area to walk around and see before heading back to the ship?

You can go yo the casino and the marina, everything else will require a pass. You used to be able to but a pass to the aquarium. You can’t go on the beach or by the water park.
