Moderate Activity Excursion - Golden Circle Iceland

Recommended Posts

Off to Iceland in July really want to book the Golden Circle but it states moderate level of activity. Wife has some mobility issues especially walking long distances. Anyone know what moderate means to P&O?

We have done this tour, there was a considerable amount of walking but you don't need to do it all as you get quite close to most of the sites via the bus, there were several elderly people with sticks who managed most of the walking. Moderate is a guide which means different things to different people, it depends on the extent of your wife's mobility. Check out this tour online with some of the local tour companies as that should help. It is a great tour.

This is an excellent excursion and I would recommend it. I think the level of difficulty will be the split where two tectonic plates are moving. The ground is uneven. However you could just do a small amount of walking and turn around when you were tired.

I've done this but not on a cruise trip. At the tectonic plates we were given the option of staying on the bus or doing the walk.  It wasn't a very long walk but if I remember correctly there was a bit uphill at the end. At gulfoss waterfalls you can walk down or not to nearer the water fall but you can see quite well from near where the bus is. There is a little bit of walking at the geysers but only a very small distance. It's worth finding out what the tour operator advises because its really is one you'd not want to miss. Well worth seeing.

If she did that. The golden circle will be a doddle.
