2806 Posted March 15 #1 Share Posted March 15 We are trying to find some options of island tours other than the Princess excursions. We will be arriving on May 24. Our time is 8-6. We like scenery, history and learning about local culture. Any suggestions, or should we just do the Princess excursion? Thank you for your thoughts!

We used Thenford Grey on our recent visit. Very good tour, well organised, you can pay via PayPal and I would highly recommend. Thenford is a very nice and engaging guy. We are in port the same day as the original poster "2806"." Thanks in advance!

We are in port the same day as the original poster "2806"." Thanks in advance! We did the Grand Tour. We met them at 9am and I think we got back at 4pm but they will check your ship arrival and departure times. It began with a brief tour of Basseterre before we headed up to Romney Manor. Thenford escorted us around the gardens, giving great information about the various plants etc and he and his nephew made sure we all got great photos. We were not rushed and had time to look around the batik making area and grab a drink at the cafe. From there we went up to the fort where we had plenty of time to have a good look round. After that we drove to Friars Beach with a stop at Timothy Hill to get the view across Frigate Bay. We were given around 90 minutes at Friars Beach so plenty of time to enjoy the beach, have a swim and also to get a nice lunch from the beach bar (the jerk pork sandwich was great). We had great information from them ahead of our tour, confirming times etc and also arranging PayPal payment if required.

For $65. Did you pay extra to have the longer tour/extra beach time? Also you mentioned PayPal. Do you have to pre-pay? Thanks.

They mean three to four hours sightseeing and one to two hours on the beach. If you read the text it says six whirlwind hours which is three to four hours plus one to two hours at the beach which makes more sense and is what we got. For PayPal, I emailed them after I received my joining instructions and they sent through the information. They also accept cash on the day. Yeah the wording is definitely unclear. Thanks for answering me so quickly. The day we are in St. Kitts there will be 10K+ passengers in port so looking to pre-book a tour. 🙂
WorldCruiserLover Posted June 22 #11 Share Posted June 22 We used Gibralter Tours and Taxi Service for an island tour and Elvis was absolutely amazing! We had such a great day - I highly recommend Elvis!! We had a private tour, just the 3 of us, Elvis let us decide where and when.....obviously we used his suggestions as we had not been there before. Doing research I knew of a couple of places I wanted to see and he had already planned to take us there. We never felt rushed at all and was an amazing day on a beautiful island! What type of vehicle did you travel in?
Rare Thedonkeycentrehalf Posted June 30 #13 Share Posted June 30 It was one of the usual minibuses but they didn’t overfill it using the jump seat as some tours do. I can’t remember exactly how many bit probably only a dozen of us.
