Gibraltar Port Stop On My Own?

Recommended Posts

Hello: I will be on a transatlantic cruise coming up in April. One of our stops is Gibraltar. Pretty much, I do not like guided tours. So, if anyone out there can assist me I would be grateful. Do the cruise ships dock in a location from which I could strike out on my own for a few hours, just walking the town, taking a few photos, etc.? As I know, sometimes the docks are miles away from anything. I am a good walker, but convenience helps! Any guidance any of you could provide would be extremely appreciated! Thanks!

In addition to being very walkable, you can also walk across the airport runway, as walkers and vehicles must cross the runway to reach the Spanish border.
