blankston Posted March 29 #1 Share Posted March 29 I'm booking my first 2 cruises, back to back, Costa Fascinosa followed by Costa Fortuna. 1. Compare all of the regional sites and book the cheapest one. Costacruises.eu was cheaper than both the UK and North American version for my cruises. 2. Lock in the price for a week, then only pay the €50 deposit per person, as the overall cost is the same regardless of whether you pay upfront or not. Questions: 1. Does anybody know any promo codes that we can apply to a booking with Costa? 2. One of our cruises is already sold out of balcony cabins. What is the likelihood more will be released? Would we be easily able to pay for an upgrade if we initially book an inside or outside cabin? 3. If anyone has any experience with these ships, what area did you find had the best cabin? We are looking at an aft facing balcony on Costa Fortuna.
Rio1978 Posted April 2 #2 Share Posted April 2 Have never seen any promo codes for Costa. Costa is one of the cheapest cruise lines anyway. You get loyalty points from cruise bookings flights booked through Costa and in board spending. This gives you discount s for future cruises so make sure you sign up for the loyalty scheme which you can do as soon as booking made. It will save you some money in these cruises in terms of on board spending and then some off initial cruise cost for future bookings but points only last three years so so make them worthwhile you have to cruise with them at least once every three years
Rio1978 Posted April 2 #3 Share Posted April 2 Question 2. Sometimes once all cabins allocated to travel agencies to sell ( but not sold) are released back to Costa then other cabins become available. And you can ring and enquire about upgrading . Thie new cabin will cost you whatever the cost of that grade of cabin was in the day you made your initial booking so no late savings to be made
panamapd Posted May 6 #4 Share Posted May 6 Hi, I tend to find the best prices with Costa German as it includes the mandatory service charge. Have you checked that Costa.eu will include this or as in the UK, will this be added on during your sailing? At the moment there is MAY24 or maycosta24 which gives you 100 euros off a cabin. I have also booked through the German site, as it is much cheaper and includes service charge. However, how am I able to ensure that I am not put with German speaking only for a MDR table ? That might get transferred to the table planners. As you will know, it's also possible on the first day to ask about your table allocation and request a change if necessary. Costa usually has an assistant Maitre on duty for a couple of hours on the first afternoon in one of the dining rooms (you will find the information in the daily programme left in your cabin). Good luck. We book in all the Costa markets, depending on price! PS Love your "early years" cruising experiences! PPS We were "shipmates" on the Splendida from Dubai to Yokohama in 2018. Loved that cruise, especially as we were seated at a fun table where, although I was the only native English speaker, everyone else spoke good English. We still regularly visit one of the couples who live in Spain.
Bill B Posted October 11 #7 Share Posted October 11 I just booked the Toscana for an 8-day Mediterranean cruise from Rome on the Costa.eu site because the cost was almost USD $700 less than on the Costa.com site. Same ship, same date, same itinerary, same room.
gerryuk Posted October 11 #8 Share Posted October 11 Even taking into account the exchange rate, there is a massive difference in pricing for the same ship and itinerary. I booked Tenerife to Dubai on the UK site a couple of weeks ago and have just checked the pricing for the same cruise on other Costa sites. The prices shown are for single occupancy. German site.. UK site.. Italian site

We are on board Smeralda now. The English host told us that they expect about 2000 pax on the cruise to Dubai, so you should be very comfortable!
