jeanlyon Posted April 17 #1 Share Posted April 17 Hi, we have been staying at the Elizabeth House, but they don't do dinner on Sundays. Anybody got anywhere else to the West or Southampton that they like - just for the night?
Rare Thedonkeycentrehalf Posted April 17 #2 Share Posted April 17 If you know and like Elizabeth House, can you not stay there but then either walk or get a bus/cab down to West Quay where there will be plenty of places open for dinner?

Palaceman Posted April 17 #4 Share Posted April 17 The Beach House, Milford On Sea. There is also The Smugglers Inn as an alternative for something to eat and the Wash House micro bar that does a good selection of beers and wine.
Peanut006 Posted April 18 #5 Share Posted April 18 We stayed at Elizabeth House last summer. They were not doing food that evening but they recommended a pub across the road. It about a 5 min walk next to a park. I can’t remember the name but it was really nice, it was definitely a “food pub” Michelle

arlowood Posted April 19 #9 Share Posted April 19 We normally drive down from the Midlands and stop over near Newbury. Our stay of choice is the Donnington Grove Hotel on the outskirts of Newbury with easy access off the A34. It's a hotel set on a golf club and has a very quiet location. Room rates are reasonable and the food is good. https://www.donnington-grove.com/ After the overnight stay it's an easy 1hr - ish drive to the cruise port via the A34/M3 and M27 West. Convenient services on the M27 West at Rownhams if you need a loo stop or a coffee before you join the ship. Might be a tad far out for some folks but we love the quiet location and the reasonable room rates.
