Cuiser06 Posted March 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2006 If you mean the Concierge Club then they have little food bites and a full service person there to poor drinks etc.
madforcruising Posted March 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2006 What does concierge offer kids for snacks? Do they offer juice, crackers/cookies, fruit? Yes there is juice in the Concierge lounge and sometimes there are cookies and sometimes you can find fruit there too, but as you asked about kids I have to say that the concierge lounge is clearly marked with a door sign and a remark in the welcome letter as an environment for guests of 18 and older. So kids are not considered to be in the Concierge lounge.

ilionite65 Posted March 25, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 25, 2006 After 5pm access to concierge club is limited to guests 18 and older. During other times, guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

madforcruising Posted March 25, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2006 In all of the lounges I've enjoyed, the "no kids" rule applies only in the evenings (after 5pm). Well I can only say that the signs don´t have specific times on them. Having said this I don´t know how the Concierge handled it during his morning times being on duty, as I rarely have been in there then. During the time the Lounge is not attended and so he can´t controll if kids sneak in or not. So it can be that else than posted kids may have been in the lounge throughout the day. This may vary by ship and concierge, but my experience is that no kids are allowed after 5 period, whether accompanied or not...
Makai4 Posted March 25, 2006 #10 Share Posted March 25, 2006 I had my kids with me on the Navigator, and at the time they were 7 and 11. We had the late seating for dinner (8:30), and would always go into the Concierge Lounge with them prior to that so that my husband and I could enjoy a cocktail. Maybe it's because they were quiet and well-behaved, but the concierge always welcomed them, offered them juice or soda, and never said a word to us about them being there. I really think it all depends on the behavior of the children, to tell you the truth.
PH8 Posted March 25, 2006 #11 Share Posted March 25, 2006 The concierge lounge is not for children after 5pm,regardless how well behaved your kids might be..........I really resent when people break the rules. Some concierges will say something to the parents(that no kids are allowed) and some concierges dont want to ruffle feathers..I applaud those who have the guts to say something. I bet, too, that the other passengers in there did not appreciate having children in there...
threeofus Posted March 25, 2006 #12 Share Posted March 25, 2006 I know 18 is 18 but we have a 16 year old DD.......Do they look the other way? By the way....I shouldn't have to, but I'll put a flame suit on anyway.

jaycor Posted March 26, 2006 #14 Share Posted March 26, 2006 On the MOS in Feb there was a sign outside the door telling people children were not allowed in after 5 pm.
jaycor Posted March 26, 2006 #15 Share Posted March 26, 2006 We often took our kids in with us in the morning so they could have a toasted bagel or fruit. They were not allowed in without us.
42trvl Posted March 26, 2006 #16 Share Posted March 26, 2006 We also were on the Mariner, and took the kids in for breakfast. Our letter specifically said after 5pm as the rule for kids. Another favorite snack of theirs was the chocolate covered strawberries. Even though they don't want you taking food and drink out of the lounge, the concierge would send a couple with us to the kids later in the day...:)
Merion_Mom Posted March 26, 2006 #17 Share Posted March 26, 2006 I'm just seconding the information already posted. 18 and older after 5 - as posted on the door and in your welcome letter. Accompanied by parents at other times. Continental breakfast in morning - all ages, but minors to be accompanied by parents. Cocktail hour, 5 - 8:30 (times will vary by ship) - 18 and older ONLY, no real "kid" food then, anyway. (smoked salmon, shrimp, caviar, brie) Confession: My son always accompanied us into the Concierge Lounge on the Enchantment. I travel without a male adult - just my two kids. My son was 17 when we were on the Enchantment, and six feet tall, and probably looked about 19. My daughter, who WAS 19, looks about 25. I was NOT going to leave my son outside while my daughter and I got canapes and a glass of wine (beer for DD). He is a good boy, and doesn't drink, but he DID grab some hors d'oeuvres.........which evened things out, because I didn't. :) In a sense, he is my escort on our cruises. He is the escort for BOTH me and my daughter. And we DO make a handsome threesome. :)

whale-watcher Posted March 26, 2006 #23 Share Posted March 26, 2006 The concierge on the Enchantment prepared a little plate of treats for us to bring back to the suite for the kids -- but this was on a sailing when there were very few kids on board. We never considered bringing the kids with us in the evening (they had far more interesting things to do, and in all honesty, preferred pizza to the fare available in the lounge, and would have been bored to tears even if they were allowed in). ...During the time the Lounge is not attended and so he can´t controll if kids sneak in or not. no need to sneak the kids into the lounge at other times...they are ALWAYS welcome to join you there for breakfast in the mornings, and it is a wonderful spot to enjoy a crowd-free morning meal (unless you like bacon and eggs, which we do not...) Jollyholiday Posted March 26, 2006 #25 Share Posted March 26, 2006 We were on NOS last August and our children only went into the concierge lounge with us during the day if we were booking restaurants etc where they able to have an orange juice etc. After 5.00 pm is definitely adult time, the children would have an early buffet dinner then went off to kids club. This left us to get ready have a couple of pre-dinner drinks in the concierge lounge before our late seating. This was one of the main things I loved about the cruise our kids had better things to do then hang around with us in the lounge. However, I would not get upset if someone brought their 17 year old into the lounge.
