If one buys an NCL excursion in Ketchikan, do you get transportation from Ward Cove or do you have to take the shuttle into town to meet?

NCL excursions pick up at Ward Cove dock. Just like NCL excursions pick up at the AJ dock in Juneau (which is not the main cruise ship dock).

I think maybe the singular exception for Juneau that's sold as an NCL Excursion is the Goldbelt Tram, which is basically an 'access ticket' that can be used at any time - "Tickets allow unlimited rides throughout the day and reservations are not required."

you will pick up your excursion at ward cove.

some excursions may allow you to stay in town and then take the general shuttle back if you choose to do so.
