MSC Euribia Flaam arrival time 8AM accurate?

First time MSC cruiser here. I have booked 8:25AM Flaam Railway ticket (all the other time sold out). MSC Euribia will arrive Flaam at 8AM. Do I have enough time to take the train?

Based on my research, the port is very close to the train station. Is it right?

Thanks,

Hello,

Yes, the train station is very close to the berth.

I don't want to put a downer on your plans, but whilst the ship may arrive at 08:00, it has to be 'cleared' by the local authorities before anyone can disembark. The answer to how long that takes is 'how long is a piece of string?'. Not only that but, especially given the location, there might be a couple of thousand people wanting to do the same.

Regards,

It's 2 min walk from the Ship to the trainstation, but the lines in the ship can be long especially when you are not in YC. So this will probably not work, on my last MSC Cruise to Flam with a big ship there were long lines in Flam.

@harbourxie  I Was in Flam last week on this itinerary.  Yes, the train station is only a few minutes away but the train starts to board a good 10 minutes before it leaves.  You will NOT make it.  You can cancel your tickets and get a full refund -- they will NOT be honored later in the day. (I asked because I was in the same predicament).

What happened to me is that the middle of the day slots were all booked up with the exception of the 8am or 3pm.  About 14 days before the cruise the "mid day" slots opened up -- basically MSC puts a huge reserve on the 10am/12noon times which they reserve for excursions (at a 150% markup).  They then release them to the public.

Look daily and I bet (fingers crossed) that you can snag a later train.

Thanks for the great information. If I can upgrade to Yacht Club or match to Diamond membership to get the priority disembarkation, do you think I can make it for the 8:25am train, assuming MSC Euribia arrives on time at 8am. Thanks a lot!

There is no priority with Diamond on normal port days. YC can go out first, but its to early to catch the train.

Hello,

Agreed - Diamond Priority Disembarkation is only at the end of the cruise.

If the ship arrives at 08:00 I very much doubt if Yacht Club priority disembarkation will do you much good either.

We usually sail in YC and although the escort to the head of the line is very useful, I would not depend upon it to try to reach and board a train that departs only 25 mins after the planned arrival.

Those tickets are still available simply because they are not a viable alternative.

Also YC have to wait until the ship is cleared bay the local autorities. Nobody can to magic for you in this situation.

So its really to short to go to the train. It can also be bad weather or the port pilot is to late or busy and you miss the 8am dock time, or or or.
