Carnival Celebration May 18-26, 2024, A Non-Review- Coming Soon

Recommended Posts

I realized that I didn’t put a grade for the bars. I think there are plenty of options and probably something for everyone.

Overall Grade: Very Good

I am behind, but just started reading your review with your nice pictures. I really like the tuxedo strawberries, really neat looking. 🙂

You mentioned more than one time of cookies, etc. waiting for you when you get back to your room. Have you ordered these ahead of time, or is this through you doing the casino or what?

These were casino "gifts" as part of the casino offer. They were good but we received the strawberries and three different sets of cookies which just seems like a bit of overkill. Would have rather had some OBC or credit at Cherry on Top or one of the specialty restaurants so we could use it as we liked.

Thanks for filling me in on how/why you received these different gifts were from when you were in the casino, which i don't do, as I can find other ways to spend my money. Yes I agree, and OBC or a specialty restaurant would have been better.

Great review, got to relive my new favorite ship.

We had a regular inside spa cabin forward on Deck 5. Great location but the noisiest cabin we have ever been in, we usually stay far far back aft. We also had issues with our room cooling, especially at night.

Was really disappointed the thermal suite wasn't the same as we had on the Dream, my fault for not doing my research. We only went twice, too crowded and too noisy in there to enjoy☹️

Loved all the new bars, spent the most time in Golden Jubilee working my way down the huge and interesting menu.

Loved the free dining options, ate at Chibang 3 times with no extra charge. We never made it to Emeril's, Street Eats, Pizza, or Deli. Didn't eat in the MDR at all and only twice at the buffet the breakfast.

Lucky you have another chance to do what you missed on the Jubilee.

My next Carnival cruise isn't until next March on the Vista but I'm keeping my eye out for another good offer on another Excel class ship and will consider jumping ship lol.

How was the Elite stuff in the casino were there lots of extra prizes etc?

All the surprises we received in cabin were from the casino, including the food options. In addition to the alcohol, we got a ton of cookies, a fruit basket, a cheese tray, a chocolate surprise, the tuxedo strawberries. We also received a deck of cards, a picture frame, a tote bag, an insulated cup/can holder and the Elite Lanyards as well. Each evening at 11:00PM they had drawings to play little games for cash. I think the most I saw was one person won $1,000. They were fun to watch, but alas, we did not get our names drawn :(.

Thanks for the excellent review.  We have cruised on both the Celebration and Mardi Gras and much more prefer the Celebration.  Like you, we spent a LOT of time at Latitudes where we sloshed down a bunch of Brambles while munching on Biegnets from Emerils nearby.  I wasn't too much of a fan of the Golden Jubilee but wifey loved the drinks there.

It's just a beautiful ship.  It's our favorite Carnival ship.

I definitely see the appeal of the Excel class ships, just so many options for food , drinks etc. The Celebration is our current favorite. We have the Jubilee booked next year so we’ll see how that compares ( should be pretty close). 😎
