Bluebird forever Posted May 30 #1 Share Posted May 30 Just wondered if anyone has done this. Is the sea rough December time? We’re regularly Azamara cruisers and wondered how this compares. Are there tables for 2? Any other info appreciated.

Rare Fletcher Posted May 31 #3 Share Posted May 31 (edited) December is in the wet season, though I once started a Christmas cruise from Mahe and sailed across to Zanzibar and never saw a drop of rain and landed twice on Aldabra which is prone to rough seas. This was on a 100 pax expedition ship and I strongly believe the Silver Spirit, which we sailed on last year in the Med, is far too big to get the best out of the Seychelles. It will be reliant on those tenders which need flat seas. Edited May 31 by Fletcher
kej1 Posted May 31 #4 Share Posted May 31 I have been to the Seychelles several times by air and land but not on a cruise ship. December can be quite rainy but the dry season can be quite windy and the water can be quite rough ( July and August). So don’t know if it will be rough but you could have rain. tiny rod Posted August 3 #8 Share Posted August 3 We are also sailing on the same itinerary just a bit nervous though as the new reviews of the ship have been awful, worn stained smelly carpets, duct tape on decks to hold boards in place, same menu every night, frozen seafood, etc. We are hoping this is not the case. I know it was dry-docked in 2018 but just like other ships they do not renovate the entire ship just certain areas. Hoping for the best.
CeleryCruiser Posted August 10 #9 Share Posted August 10 We are also sailing on the Spirit Mahe to Mahe cruise 28th of December. We are first timers on a SilverSea- though experienced with Celebrity. We do not have much expectations about the ship or service but really wish that we can get all the destinations on the itinerary, as that was the main reason why we chose it.
