First time on Aurora

None of the things you mention are an issue, that's why we booked Aurora. 

We've done this cruise at the same time of the year a couple of times before. Just hope that the weather holds up for the first couple of days travelling south and then for the return trip.

We are probably on the same cruise too.  It is the replacement cruise for one that we had to cancel last November due to 2 bereavements 8 days apart.  We have never had a queuing problem on Aurora in the past.

Oxford is on our long journey south and is always a problem compared to the rest of our route, we have encountered some very long standstills, especially late afternoon.  No problems or road works traveling south late April and return 15th May though, so assume they have started since then.  Do you know if the current road works in Oxford are due to continue over the summer?

 

There do seem to be a lot of road works around recently, even on smaller roads.  The A41 through Shropshire has been a problem for us when driving south and the diversions go miles around as no obvious alternatives nearer.

Best to check nearer the time on the National Highways site. There seems to be a lot of overnight closures but the situation changes week to week.

22nd November? I'm  on that one too. Love Aurora,  not been on her since 2019. Can't wait.
