Coral Princess questions from a newbie

Recommended Posts

Hello

Hoping the vast wisdom of the forum can help me out!

We are new to cruising (only had one so far with Celebrity) and are on the Coral in December for a bucket list trip of the Panama Canal full transit. Really looking forward to it especially as over Christmas and New Year.

We have 3 things we are unsure about

1. Will there be any 220v European plugs in the stateroom (we are in a balcony)? My wife prefers her own harirdryer and has a blow brush and curling tongs which are all 220v.

2. Will be able to bring on board a cordless Babaliss heated brush that is powered by a small inbuilt energy cell (As I understood it, the Princess web site makes reference to personal care items being permitted)? There is certainly no open flame involved.

3. Given that it will be Christmas and New Year do people have any experience of people getting dressed up on those days - ie Tux etc? I can see that the general dress code has dropped over time and is a hot topic!

Many thanks

Yes, there will be one EU style outlet, so you will only be able to use one appliance at a time.  Bring a plug adapter.  EM

Thanks - much appreciated- we have plenty of adapters both EU and US - it is just the voltage that is an issue for hair straighteners and things which my wife uses.

Not that it will do you much good (probably) there will be a European 220 volt plug behind one of the beds.  This is what I always use (with an adapter) to run a CPAP and not have to worry about tripping over an extension cord running across the floor.
