Alaskan Cruise - Preferred Cabin Location

I have never done an Alaskan Cruise, considering a Queen Elizabeth out of Seattle.  Either Balcony or Princess Grill.  What are preferred cabin locations for view and overall experience?

It is the same as every cruise line sailing Alaska from Seattle.  You will sail west of Vancouver Island, but you won’t be close enough to really see much.  Until you get into the northern Inside Passage land will be starboard, once in the passage sights will be both sides.  When you are glacier viewing the ship will rotate every 30 min. or so so that everyone who isn’t out on the promenade moving around can get a view.  But remember, what goes up must come down…so views that were starboard going up will be port coming back.  EM

If booking a one way, and I have no idea of the itineraries, after a couple of Inside Passage cruises, we found starboard the more scenic side for our Vancouver [Seattle for Cunard]/Anchorage one way.

If booking PG, avoid deck 8 under the buffet. There have been many reports on this board of noise from above. This category would give you access to the Grills terrace which would give you outstanding (almost 360 degrees) viewing in comfort.

We cruised Vancouver to Alaska in June 2022 on Queen Elizabeth. As 'Essiesmom' has said either side is equal because you will see the best views in one or the other direction. We had balcony cabin 8119 and found it to be a very good placement. We had fabulous views of the glaciers from our balcony as it was slightly lower than being on a higher deck and we sat with a hot drink enjoying the calving. We weren't aware of any noise above or below so I am happy to recommend the cabin. Fabulous cruise in every way. We hired a car after the cruise and drove to the Rockies.
