Official SCAVI tour unavailable until NOV 2024

I just received an email response from the request I sent to the "Ufficio Scavi" regarding the official Scavi underground tour, which is hosted by the Vatican Historical Office.  Unfortunately, "due to maintenance work in the archaeological are under St Peter, guided tours of the necropolis and tomb of St Peter will be suspended from August 19-Nov 3, 2024.

 

UGGHHHH.  We arrive on August 22.

I am sorry. We are currently in Rome and took the tour this morning. 
 

it is definitely worth returning for !

 

I thought it would be special. We were overwhelmed with the historic part of it. 
 

It was worth all the effort it took to get tickets.

Could you tell me how long it took to get a response once you contacted them? I don't arrive in Rome until November 4th so have sent a request for this tour but would like to book some others and not sure how long I should wait. If I don't get the SCAVI tour, then I am afraid others might be sold out. Thanks for your help.

Took a few weeks last time (2016). About 3 weeks this time.
