Eden Restaurant good but overpriced

Something happened with whoever or wherever they procure their product.  While I have, at least one year ago, heard people say they did not care of the menu choices, almost to a person folks said that the food was fabulous.  The past several months the feedback has really turned.

Not really.  A good decent sized restaurant does 200 or 300 covers a night.  The ship does 5000 per meal including staff meals and specialty restaurants.  And the same cooks prepare the specialty meals in the same kitchen on the same equipment for the most part.  Your fixed costs are spread over a much larger meal base than in a typical shoreside restaurant.  The infrastructure costs are paid in your cabin fare.  Celebrity also negotiated large volume discounts with food and equipment suppliers that shoreside restaurants can't get.  Ang labor costs onboard are much lower than a shoreside US restaurant.    .

Sure..it’s on a billion dollar ship..the Eden restaurant is open air, not tied to other kitchens..that said, the price is clear, and no one is coerced to eat there…

 

Myself, I like the pasta bar at the buffet just fine,,
