But what if it is an alarm and I pull it off the wall and the whole ship has to evacuate? This is just my first Princess cruise and I want to be let on another another one…

I'm sure that for a first offense, they'll give you a pass and not escort you for a BTS tour to see the brig below deck.

Looked & remind me of the old Honda (2001 / 2004) overhead dome light, with the sliding switch - on/off/stay on ?? to read those old paper maps in the days.  Doesn't it ??

Good afternoon to you, between the cake and the cookies ... you are partially responsible for NCL forum addicts flocking here.  DW has been thinking & talking about booking Princess too, well Cunard next month was totally unexpected until recently.

I saw another post that said that’s like a flashlight that can be removed. I’ve not tried this. Your cabin steward can advise!

Agree, best to ask what it is.

I travel with a small flashlight,so I never tried to remove the one from the wall.

Maybe a flashing light for smoke detector for hearing impaired?

Yep best to ask cabin staff.can’t wait to hear the proper answer. Kinda like trivia🤣

I have now decided that Princess is not the place if you are in the witness protection program as they display everyone’s name on the digital screen outside cabin doors.

But it is helpful after making use of the drink package and not being able to remember your room number (or so I’ve been told. I wouldn’t know, of course)

Yes that freaked me out when I sailed on the Discovery Princess earlier this year. And it was not just my name but also my not so flattering cruise pic.

I’m dealing with a mix up regarding the thermal spa package. Today the spa manager called at 8:10am. This is the equivalent of 4:10am PST. I was pretty mad and what she offered was ridiculous: a free scrub add on for all treatments. I don’t have any treatments and after what I went through last night am not planning on booking any!

This post may fall into the TMI category. I washed my undies yesterday and draped them over the towel rack.

I was so tired after minimal sleep that I forgot about them. The room steward has already made up the cabin and he hung the towels beside the undies.

Room steward saw my undies!!

You an go to Guest Services and ask that it does not display name or photo - re photo, you can do as we did and upload photos of pets (or anything, in good taste please) for your "public" photo.

Loving your review! I know you're a reader and a chocolate lover. Princess has an extensive roster of movies to watch in your room and one that I love is Peace by Chocolate. If you haven't seen it and they still have it, I recommend watching it before you get to Halifax.  It's a true story about a Syrian family who lost their chocolate factory in the war and relocated to Antigonish and the dad started making chocolate in their kitchen and selling it at churches. He eventually got funding to open up a factory and they are now one of the richest families in that area. They have a chocolate on the boardwalk in Halifax and their chocolates are yummy!

Thank you...this is good to know. I shall upload a photo of Rasputin on my next Princess cruise as it would be more flattering than my photo from the previous cruise.

@YVRteacher

at Sabatini’s Italian

when you get onboard and when Sabatini’s is open on the first night( probably at 5 pm, or when there may be somebody staff wise hanging around at 4:30 go in person and ask). Ask when Italian night is in the main dining room. This is usually when I go to Sabatini‘s. You may also want to ask them if they can prepare any off menu items for vegetarians.

Here’s what I believe is on the menu, a vegetarian soup or Insalata mista salad and you choose one of those. Under Antipasti I don’t see any vegetarian items and primi piatti course I see a porcini mushroom risotto or you choose Penne primavera. Second Piatti course Parmesan Melanzane.. And desserts I don’t have a list of, but you should be good there.

hope you see your specialty dining somewhere listed in your dining app or Reservations or somewhere on your itinerary because that could become a problem if they gave it to you complementary and nobody on the ship can see it and you can’t prove it. Hope you’ve already thought of all that ,but one time our travel agent gifted it to us, and we could not find it anywhere in our itinerary and we never had “ certificate “ in our room ( when they use to do it that way) so always pays to be prepared

I took your advice and booked Sabatini’s on Italian night. Thank you.

Yes, I have the newest version.

Yes, I have logged out and signed in.

Yes, I have been to the Internet Cafe. 5 times in 24 hours.

Yes, I have now met with the Internet Cafe Manager.

No, it is not fixable and I have now been told there is no possible way of making it work on this cruise. There is a problem with the system with certain situations (keeping that quiet for now) and I am in the certain situation. Shoreside is aware of the technical issue.

Yes, I am annoyed and mildly frustrated.

No, this is not going to ruin my vacation.

@YVRteacher well I hope you will enjoy Sabatini’s & hope you won’t be missing anything on the regular dining room menu on Italian night. So difficult to choose what night to skip in MDR.

Im sure they can accommodate your vegetarian options with off menu items if given advance warning? Or of course order off menu. I did not see a V by the burrata, which looks delicious in other’s photos, wonder why?

well enjoy when you go.

@YVRteacher Enjoying your review (as I have all of your reviews I've followed).

Like you, I am an NCL regular (Sapphire), but whereas this is your first on Princess, I flipped to them last year as my cruise line of choice.

I hope your app issue gets resolved quickly and you have an amazing cruise.

Since I can’t use the app to book dining I had to phone. They asked me during the reservation process if I had any allergies or dietary restrictions.

They know I’m coming!

Ooops, meant to tell you, I was flying home from Florida yesterday evening and flew over NYC.  Saw your ship departing the NYC from 30,000+ feet....a real birds eye view!

Any votes on what drink I should have now?

Dirty Banana or the margarita with the weird name (40k or something?)
