Excursions using OBC

We have a good bit of non-refundable OBC to use on our December cruise.  Princess is currently running a sale on excursions.  I know I can't use the OBC credit to book now, but can I book now via credit card and roll to OBC when we get on board?  Does anyone know if it will roll at the sale price or current price?  I was able to do this on Holland, I booked early because the excursion was sold out and my waitlist came through. Once onboard, I went to the excursion desk and they were able to refund/move to OBC without me giving up my place on the sold out excursion.  But there was no price difference at that time.

This is good news.  Holland didn't let us use OBC in advance of actually being on board.  I'm going to try it out!

It’s is definitely an option when you go to pay.  Just used some yesterday.

Reporting back, this worked.  It did apply OBC before asking for any other method of paying.  This is great, and definitely different from other lines we've cruised.  Fist thing technology wise I can say that I like Princess better!

Thanks for the prompt responses.

Glad it worked for you.

Remember though that should you cancel your shore excursion on the cruise because of illness or any other reason that money will sit on your cabin as obc again while on the cruise. Paying with credit card it would go back to your card.  We had a fare amount of on board credit and we simply redeemed it for cash at the casino. On last cruise, I was hard pressed to find anything nice to buy with my 600usd of obc. They have made all the Princess merchandise generic nothing specific to individual ships anymore. Sad.
