Live from the Breakaway right now. I’m going to try to do semi-live trip report. I’ve been having slight phone issues so we can see how it goes. If it doesn’t work, I can update on return! This trip is me, Donna, (newly unemployed and/or retired?) and my husband Dan (soon to be …shhh…retired. But he doesn’t like that term- he’s “exploring his options”!) lol We live in central Florida and spent mid week in Key West and 1 night Miami last night. We used to live in Miami so it was very nostalgic to be back. This is our 5th Haven stay and first time on Breakaway which apparently a full ship this week. And you can really tell just from walking around. We arrived at port Terminal B around 11:05am and were able to board right away. They took our luggage and we parked in the garage. We entered the separate Haven entrance and were escorted on ship to Haven lounge. They now give you a form to fill out to give to the concierge, Monica, with requests. They advise turning it in right away to get what you want which was a new Haven aspect for us. Previously, we would just see the concierge during the week if we needed changes. I only needed one time change for Cagneys and we were put on a wait list for an excursion we wanted in Tortola. At noon, they announced the restaurant was open and there was a mad rush to eat. We weren’t particularly hungry so we explored the Haven sun deck areas instead. Our cabin is on 14 which is one floor below Haven proper so we couldn’t drop our bag off yet. We have a formerly known as Haven Spa suite with the tub in the corner. We decided to tour the spa and got the review of extra services and met the ships spa doctor. Apparently, for an unknown fee, they can remove inches and inches of weight as well as hydrate you if you are hungover. Sign me up, baby! Uh not. I do have a thermal spa pass so I got my sticker and info about opening hours. I’m sure Dan will use the gym so he was interested to see that area. I will be on the heated lounger or the fun spa pools. we went to lunch after the mad rush and had light bites. Couscous salad for me and lobster bisque. The salad with shrimp was wonderful and had four shrimp perfectly cooked. The lobster bisque was terrible - no flavor and very salty. Dan had the salad and the salmon which we both enjoyed. For dessert, we had the brownie with ice cream and carrot cake. Both were tasty. Rare firstmickey Posted July 7 Author #4 Share Posted July 7 After lunch, we did a self tour because it’s hotter than the surface of the sun today and the pool had so many people it looked like being your own water. If so, we had her on our last Breakaway cruise in October 2021. Also hoping you can get a picture of the officer board on deck 6. He made me my own special pretty drink! we are calling it the Donna Sunset. Lol it has peach, passion fruit, vodka, and some type of magic and glitter! Delicious! will report on Haven dinner later. Rare firstmickey Posted July 8 Author #24 Share Posted July 8 After dinner and my fancy glitter drink, we ended up at Syd Norman’s Pour House and it was incredibly fun. The band was amazing with incredible vocal ranges. . It was fun, interactive, and we will be going back for more. The singer who did Heart’s Crazy for you was awesome. more pics and Haven dinner review tomorrow. My good time makes typing difficult.
