Best time to book a 5 day cruise in October departing from Galveston

Recommended Posts

Pricing definitely depends on location, departure point, duration. We are fairly limited in that respect. We are just looking for when to pull the trigger and book it.

We know the following:

Departure Point: Galveston

Duration: 4-5 nights

Location: Mexico (Cozumel)

Dates: Has to be after October 16th, no later than beginning November

Do we wait and book closer to the date forthe best deals? or always book ASAP?

Thanks,

Dave

If you are comfortable with the price and cabin selection, book now. The closer you get the less inventory might be available. Cruises are popular at the moment, so many ships are sailing full and don't have any deals as you get closer to sailing. Waiting has the risk of losing the cabin/category/sailing date you are interested in.

Also, when you book a bit out, you will just be charged an initial deposit, with the full balance due closer to the cruise date. The closer you wait to book, the more likely you will need to pay for the whole cruise at once, as you might be too close just to put down a deposit.

That’s a very limited set of options - short cruise, just about a two week window.  There is little likelihood of significant price change on an inexpensive itinerary like that, so I would recommend you just decide on the cabin you like/can afford and book it now.

Yep - If you're talking about Oct 2024, I think you'd only have two choices, CCL Breeze or RCL Mariner OTS. And some of those sailings have sold out categories already.
