Norwegian Fiords July 2025

Recommended Posts

We are looking to cruise to the fiords in July next year I am looking at the sky princess and Iona at the moment.  I would like to pick based on the best itinerary we would like to see as much and hike where possible. Cruise must leave from Southampton as other half won't fly

It helped that you listed the itineraries. I vote for Iona.

As a starting point Norwegian fjord cruises should include two deep fjords to Geiranger, Flåm or Olden as well as coastal cities such as Bergen Ålesund or Stavanger.

Iona does include two deep fjords to Olden og Flåm and then Stavanger.

Princess  has only one deep fjord to Olden and then Stavanger

Haugesund and Skjolden less interesting ports.

I’d also choose the Iona. The itineraries are pretty much identical except for Sjolden vs Flåm. Flåm is a perennial favorite and one of the top 3 picks for favorite fjord ports. Skjolden is a bit underwhelming.

As for when to book, price fluctuations are tied much more to cruiseline than to destination. So it’s probably a question better asked on the P&O board.
