NYGator84 Posted July 14 #1 Share Posted July 14 Are any of you seasoned cruisers familiar with the port in Reykjavik? Specifically, is there a free shuttle from the port into town? I know there is a 4km pedestrian walkway along the water but wondered if there was a bus as well. Thanks in advance!
MAVIP Posted July 15 #2 Share Posted July 15 Bus 12 and bus 18 leave from the parking place near the cruise terminal (Skarfabakki) to the center of Reykjavik. And you could use the Hop On Hop Off bus too. https://www.straeto.is/en gives all information on public transport. We visited Reykjavik twice during cruises but no free shuttles were offered. Taxi's are available too.
Lenbro1944 Posted July 15 #3 Share Posted July 15 Not directly on topic. How much time will it take “from time plane lands”in Reykjavik airport to get to hotel via taxi?
cunnorl Posted August 13 #4 Share Posted August 13 We will be docking in Reykjavik today. We have been told there is a free shuttle provided by the port. Runs every 15 minutes. Last at 5:45pm. I will report back after our 2 days there.
cunnorl Posted August 14 #5 Share Posted August 14 The free shuttle was available for the 2 days we were in port. Picked up at ship and dropped off by the opera house. From there an easy short walk to the city center. Return trip was just the reverse. great service. It is also wheelchair accessible .
