Monte Carlo to Eze on a Sunday

We will be in Monte Carlo in late October. Unfortunately it will be on a Sunday. We thought it would be nice to visit Eze, but are not sure if the shops will be open or what sort of transportation will be easiest from the port if possible. Is Uber or cab an option.

The direct bus service from Monaco to Eze Village doesn't operate on Sundays. The public transport options would be train to Eze-sur-Mer then a bus that runs roughly every hour to and from Eze Village. Or the main bus service along the coast to a point where you could cross the road and catch that same bus service to Village. That would be shorter but might take just as long as the train option and while the stop is not "in the back of beyond" it's not a major interchange point.

If it's for a time critical journey such as re-boarding a ship I'd suggest neither are great options. Uber or cab whilst being more expensive are probably safer.

Getting to and from Eze Village has always been somewhat of a challenge, for folks who want to use public transportation.  The buses are not frequent enough and Sundays/Holidays may not be possible.  A rental car is ideal, but renting a car in Monte Carlo can involve some major hassles (and may not even be possible on Sundays)  since one may want to use a taxi (or its a long hike) to most of the rental offices.   Using the train to Eze sur Mer, still leaves one quite a distance (all uphill) to Eze Village with the same old problem of bus schedules.  And getting a taxi from that tiny train station can also be a major hassle (and not inexpensive).
