Hotel Brighton. Hotel des Marronniers, or a Marriott property in Paris

Recommended Posts

We had booked the Castille Hotel in Paris and were planning to book air with points in the Chase portal.  However, we've found we can do much better booking our plane tickets directly with AA and booking hotels with our points in the Chase portal.  The problem is, Castille is showing "sold out" in the portal, although their website has rooms available.  This is leaving us with two other options we had considered, the Brighton or Marronniers.  Would also be open to a Marriott since we are Bonvoy members.

If one wants to stay on the Right Bank, we love the Brighton for its ideal location and old European charm.  The Marronniers is also a terrific property in an excellent right bank location.  As to the issue with Castille, if that is where you want to stay it might be worth giving them a call.  I will add that as much as we love our Chase card and their portal, there are times when having an AMEX Platinum, with access to their concierge service, can be beneficial for getting one into a booked hotel.

I think the issue might be that the Castille is "sold out" if trying to use Chase points.  It is probably available if booking directly.  Then again, the Brighton is a really nice hotel in a great spot.

Marroniers is on the Left Bank. ☺️

We already had them booked so I know they have rooms.  I canceled today after we decided to use our Chase points for hotels since we can do better with flights booking directly with AA.

That is correct. They aren’t sold out, that’s just what it says in the Chase portal. I think we’re going with the Brighton. Still waiting on AA to call me back. I tried booking with them both from my app and on my computer and couldn’t get them to take our trip credits. 🤬 I put a 24 hour hold on the tickets while I wait.
