Fly into PBI and sail out of MIA?

Hello,

I am looking at flights for January 2025.  It looks like flying into PBI is cheaper than flying into FLL or MIA.  We are sailing out of MIA.  Pros/cons of flying into PBI?   Should we stay in PBI or closer to MIA?   What time is the earliest to fly out of PBI when we port back into MIA?   Do we take Uber or train to/from PBI?

TIA!

Is it really that much cheaper when you consider the transport costs and hassles?

The direct drive is close to 90 minutes. Then add in getting to/from the train station,  etc.

Actually the drive is only about an hour.   Options are rent a car, use a car service, Tri Rail or Brightline   There may be some shuttle services available but I am not aware of them as we have a car service we have used for years and use them.

Even at almost 11 pm (as I type this), the shortest time on Google Maps is 1 hour 10 minutes via I-95 between PBI and Port Miami (not MIA which is the airport).  At 9 am on a Saturday it is estimated to take between 1 hour 10 to 1 hour 40 minutes.  And if you are driving on a weekday morning it is even worse.  To me it would be much too unpredictable (and nerve racking especially if not used to South Florida drivers).

Do look up the Tri-Rail and Brightline train options.  Make sure to check the schedules for your arrival and departure day as I think Saturday and Sunday schedules are not as robust as weekday schedules on Tri-Rail and possibly Brightline.

Well maps are off   I live about 20 minutes north of airport.   From my house it takes 45 minutes to Port Everglades and about  75 minutes to Port of Miami.   So from airport an hour (give or take a few minutes) is about right.   Agree with weekday traffic if before 9AM or 4-7PM   Weekends are not too bad unless there is a game in Miami then both I95 and turnpike will both be terrible.
