Booking onboard worth it?

Recommended Posts

I recall last year that purchasing FCC onboard and then booking onboard may not have much benefit if one could use simply the FCC once home with a travel agent anyhow.

So, is there a reason to buy more than one FCC if you’ll be traveling with the same passengers in a cabin for a future cruise?

Is there currently a reason to book on board?

Each passenger booking a cruise must pay a deposit. Why would you want to use FCC for 1 person and not the other?  I’m assuming the 2nd passenger is currently on board with you. (Maybe I didn’t understand the question?)

As for booking onboard, you will receive a larger OBC than booking once you return home even if you use FCC.

Thank you. I didn’t realize that when booking a cabin for 2+ everyone would have their own deposit. I’ve traveled with one payment and with a friend where we split it, but I never considered it was an actual breakout deposit wise.

I never do, and I'm probably missing out, but I'd rather get home, study deck plans, and read reviews, especially if anything went wrong on the current cruise that I don't wish to repeat.

You can book a room for two and name the other person later.

The deposit only applies to the first two passengers. Passengers 3 & 4 don't require a deposit. (It's a little more "togetherness" than I'd like, but....)

We've found the onboard booking agents are much more open to giving us the exact square footage of cabins/verandahs and also giving us more info than our PCC. We usually have researched our desired cruise ahead of our appointment to not waste their time which they appreciate.

They usually have sailed the ships and know the ships. The PCCs may have never taken a cruise.  I do the same, I generally know exactly what I want.  You don’t even have to visit, you can simply fill in the form and drop it in the box
