That’s a good point.  They are entering it into the App as a B2B but it should be entered as 2 different cruise.

We’ve had the same issue last year, except we were on the Royal, stayed one day in port  and then jumped onto the Majestic for a B2B.  It was all lumped in as one cruise in the app but showed three different cruises on their website.  It made any dining reservations very difficult pre-cruise.  Journeyview was also messed up.  They sent two different sets of medallions .. one for the Royal and then one for the B2B on the Majestic.
Anyway, all was well onboard but because I think it happens so rarely, they haven’t put a lot of time into fixing that system glitch.

THIS!  They have not put any thought into different scenarios, and it has been that way since the medallion program started, sadly.   Mostly the app works as "planned" but when it does other "but why would a person need to do that?" things, it becomes a real PITA.  Dining reservations is often horribly executed, to impossible sometimes.  I just wish we as loyal Princess cruisers could give input to help them work through the issues.  I don't mean constantly telling them all the bad things or what we dislike, but rather ask them to make it into something all users could easily use.  FWIW on my last B2B, my travel friend never used the app.  First it wouldn't let her DL it once onboard (she should've done it at home but didn't 🤷🏻‍♀️), then she couldn't sign in once she was able to DL it, then it would randomly lock her out.  She gave up after that.

Of note, we do have the opportunity on those surveys to suggest what needs work.  I thought maybe those comments went nowhere but lo and behold, we’ve gotten select surveys, one about the offerings of the premier package before it was put into effect.
We also just got one about the casino and so hopefully, they are thinking about making it nonsmoking.
But, as we both agree, they probably don’t hear much about these side by side sailings and how they are viewed in the app because it is kind of a rare occurrence compared to their overall bookings.  another issue we’ve had, which is hardly a huge problem, is that ever since I’ve sailed solo, when my DH goes onboard, they split our accounts.  We do have them combined after the one time, I used up more than my share of OBC but my DH has a balance on his.  I’d rather they be combined like before that solo trip I took. So, I had a credit card charge and he waited for his refund to come in by check.  Now, a quick trip to guest service solves that problem.  I may even try crew chat next time as, I love that feature in the app.

BTW, the ocean navigator folks work miracles onboard with the app.  I’ve picked up a few of their tricks, as well and sometimes, I’ve been able to help friends that are having trouble with the app while onboard.  Some of it is user error but there are some valuable tricks I’ve learned along the way.

UPDATE

Finally got my dining booked on Tuesday.  After spending hours talking to Ocean Ready/dining and Guest services our Premier dining reservations have been made for 2nd cruise while on phone with Ocean Ready.  App is not perfect but can see my reservations.  I plan on checking my App daily to make sure nothing changes.

This is not such an unusual problem and Princess should pay more attention to this issue.  Last year it happened and I had several days between cruises.  They should be thrilled to have loyal customers who choose to do this and take the time to correct it.  Their customers should not have to jump through hoops to get this fixed.

Good luck to those still having the problem.

Thanks for letting us know.  Our problem ship is the Star which isn't even built yet.  I'll wait until then to get on the phone again :)
