Beach Towels

For those of you who have cruised to beach destinations, does Viking provide beach towels for snorkeling/beachy excursions, or should we plan to provide those ourselves? This will be our first Viking cruise to tropical destinations - we've had no need for such items in northern Europe! TIA!

You should have no problem. Just grab a towel from the pool area and return it when you come back.

Yes, that is what we do too!  Have done numerous beach and snorkeling expeditions on Viking.

The pool towels are quite nice - fluffy and thick.

If you have a beach excursion booked, housekeeping will leave beach towels on your bed for you at turndown service.  Otherwise, there is usually one you can grab as you exit the ship.

Interesting - in our 6 years of Viking Ocean, we never had that happen (towels on the bed for an excursion) and we've taken several of them (mostly snorkeling excursions).  I suppose it depends on the crew.

I wonder if it was the world cruise?  This is the only cruise we have taken where beaches were an option, we have not done any of the Caribbean cruises.
The first time I saw the towels waiting for us, it took me a few minutes to figure that oh, yeah…..we are going snorkeling tomorrow.  We also had a fantastic cabin crew too.  I wanted to pack our steward up and take her home with us.  Unfortunately, we lost her in Barcelona…..long before we got off in NYC.

Thank you all for your replies!! We will be on a segment of the 2024-25 World Cruise and there are lots of opportunities for getting wet and drying off! It sounds like, as usual, Viking will take good care of us!

Sounds like a steward went above and beyond.
