FolsomMike Posted September 5 #1 Share Posted September 5 I’ve just been reading through the Vista reviews in preparation for my first Oceania cruise in a few months and found one comment that gratuities are billed at the end of the cruise instead of being included in the cruise fare. Is this correct?
Vertygo Posted September 5 #2 Share Posted September 5 Yes, unless your TA has offered them or your status is high enough for them to be included.
Rare pinotlover Posted September 5 #3 Share Posted September 5 Now depends upon your country of origin. Details matter! Are you a Merican?
Rare mauibabes Posted September 5 #4 Share Posted September 5 Absolutely correct, Gratuities are currently NOT included in your cruise fare in the US but watch for the O release tomorrow and you may just see Gratuities included October 1. If you were at the Silver O Loyalty Club level, you would already be receiving Free Gratuities so you will receive $250 additional SBC. If you’re an American they are still billed to your account. However, you will have offsetting OBC applied to your account. Grats are nonetheless billed. FolsomMike Posted September 5 Author #7 Share Posted September 5 Thanks, everyone. I just found it in the small print in the contract.
Rare lorimay Posted September 5 #8 Share Posted September 5 Also, they aren't billed at the end of the cruise, the gratuities charge shows up on your onboard account about halfway through the cruise. We had plenty of time to note that we were going to have much more refundable credit than we needed for the gratuities and were able to withdraw cash for the rest.
