Sun Princess and Kotor

Has the Sun Princess ever docked in Kotor, is it likely to? On the cruise I have booked it is listed still but no point in making plans for that if it isn’t going to happen. Not cross about it would just like to be aware so that I can make other plans.

I don't think any went there this season.  Instead they docked at Bar, Montenegro.  Hopefully whatever the issue was, they have gotten it figured out.

No, Sun has not visited Kotor this season.

And if it were to do so in the future - it's a tender port..

Unfortunately, you won't know til next year whether it'll actually visit Kotor or not - but I wouldn't hold my breath that it will do so...

I'd be looking at tours from Bar...

I read on a certain social media platform that the shore excursion staff have said to passesngers on the Sun, when they have had to re-arrange their booked trip in Kotor, that the ship won’t be going to Kotor because it’s too big.

 

The more official explanation is ‘operational issues with tendering process’

 

which, to me, translates as ships too big. Too many people to tender into Kotor.

 

we are sailing on her in August next year. Kotor is listed but we’ll see if they manage to work out how to get 6000 people off the ship with the facilities available or if they’ll make a permanent change to Barr

We were just in the Island Princess and successfully anchored in Kotor.  Such a beautiful port.  We tendered in.

We were on the Sun last month and Bar replaced Kotor.  We were told unofficially that the ship is too large to tender in and that provisions to the doc need to be made to support a ship of this magnitude.  It's a shame as Kotor is beautiful (and the sailaway out of there quite spectacular).
