We know somebody who is onboard. They had a major electrical failure that prevented them from sailing. They sorted the problem and then needed to do some comprehensive tests before they would be allowed to sail. These have now been completed and she is due to sail at 01:30 in the morning.

Deep clean after noro outbreak???

We have just left Arcadia and the outbreak was said to be diminishing by the Captain and they stopped the extra precautions a few days ago.  People still asked to wash hands at buffet, but not policed and everyone that we saw still did.  Allowed to serve ourselves to both food and drink the last few days.  Also allowed to get our own drinks most of the time anyway - just had crew serving drinks for the last day or two in Canadian waters as the Canadian authorities had suggested that was done as well as the other precautions, already in place.  Also no mention of norovirus at all.  A gastro intestinal problem is what was mentioned.

No sign of any electrical problem when we left, so presumably happened after that.  Glad there were no big problems over the Atlantic though, I have a great fear of systems failing when on a ship far from land as has happened to a couple of ships over the years.  Good to hear the ship was still in port when it happened today and hope it did not have wide ranging effects.
