Miami Port Recommendations for Parking

When I have cruised out of Florida before we have parked at the port but I believe that was either Port Canaveral or Ft Lauderdale.  I am not as familiar with port of Miami.  Does anyone have experiences to share with parking in or around port of Miami?

Similar to other ports in FL. Just Park at the Port. It's a bit more expensive but the convenience is priceless. Enjoy your cruise.

POM is 'downtown' making space for lower cost off site parking a problem. I tried it once a few years ago and it was a train wreck. Park at the port or find another way like park in Lauderdale and take a train to Miami .... Of course $ saved versus steps may tell you NO thank you.

I have been looking for a website or phone number to reserve a spot at the port and have not found yet.  I parked at the Fort Lauderdale port years ago and do agree that it was a lot more convenient.

From the Port Miami FAQs:

 

Is there reserved parking?
There is no reserved parking. However, ample parking is available.

Less officially, I see random people on the internet saying that some garages do fill up at times, but if they do you're directed to another lot and a shuttle is provided.

Any local in Miami will tell you to “park at the port”!!!  Unless you are feeling lucky!!😳😳

Are you trying to say the other parking garages are dangerous?  Sorry .  Not following .

Any local will tell you off site parking in Miami is not recommended…

We are local (loco) and always park offsite.  No problema so far, only slow shuttles.
