How is it a bait and switch if you're getting a refund?

Not getting a refund!  I paid $540pp for the Plus package.  They said they will credit my account, but they refuse to say how much.  With removing Starbucks, Sparkling Water, and Connoseiur liquor, then the refund SHOULD be 80% IMO.   Plus, I fully paid for the Plus plan via credit card when I purchased it.  (what ever happened to a deal is a deal?)  They refuse to refund my credit card, but will use it like an extra deposit amount.  Who wants to front NCL $1,000 for 6 months?

Nope!

And I'm very familiar with FAS drink menus.

Granted it doesn't include high end, expensive liquor, but calling it swill or bottom shelf is not a fair representation.

And MAS makes it slightly better, I'm sure.

If you are sure, then you must have a list of what is now included?

Maybe they're already transitioning but I was surprised at how much was included in FAS, or maybe I should say how little was available that wasn't. I actually decided to treat myself at one point and went looking for premium whiskeys and maybe I wasn't looking at the right menu but I found the selection pretty darn lacking. And Starbucks was always packed. I would have felt pretty annoyed if I had sprung for the Premium Plus package. Perhaps this is a bigger deal for wine drinkers.

At the Maltings Beer and Whiskey bar:  Recently saw posts with photos of Weller 12, Weller FP, EH Taylor, Blantons, etc.   Yes, not true super premiums, but top mid tier stuff for sure.

🤡🤡

Well, everyone has access to the current/old FAS drink menus and NCL has already mentioned that Grey Goose and Casamigos will be added to these.

That alone makes it slightly better, I'm sure.

I had a three way call with a “resolution specialist” yesterday. Refund portion is $20 pp per day. For our 14 nighter we will be getting $560 back out of the $1,372 we had paid for. Also $50 OBC per passenger #1 and #2 for the inconvenience. If I wasn’t past the 120 day mark I’d have scrapped the trip. I will be looking elsewhere for future vacations until something changes with them.

I made reservations the day I booked, 37 days before sailing. Got 5:30 or 6 pm for all three specialty and for MDR the other days.

You're able to make MDR reservations? It's odd because on our February reservation it shows 15 restaurants, but when you click on the link for 15 restaurants, only six come up...and they're all specialty restaurants.

I was surprised as well. I could pick the table size, the times, and which of two of the three MDR I wanted. One of the MDR was not available, but I assume it was held back for Freestyle walk up service.

so do we need reservations at the MDR? new to NCL.

Not only do you not need them, it now appears as though you can't make them. See my post #56...three before this one.

Also, it has recently been reported that even if the system allows MDR reservations, you could only make them for groups of six or more.

We have never made reservations for the MDR. When we show up (typically at 5:30-ish) we've never had a wait at all. If you show up after 6:00, or in a larger group than a couple, YMMV.

@dtodd posted the pic below of the credits issued for refunds. I thought that was for if you had fas+ for 2025 sailings. For premium plus as a standalone upgrade, you’ll get a refund but not for the full amount? In 2025 if there is no Starbucks, water, etc then what would you be paying for?

Or are they fully refunding if you only had premium plus  for 2025 and beyond?

I am hoping my friend makes the reservations as they have sailed NCL before. we are a party of 5 total.

This is what my PCC sent me for “FAS+ on a cruise paid for pre October 1, cruising before 2024” which is not addressed on the more at sea faq. There is so much misinformation floating around because of different NCL answers that I have no clue what to expect.
