Sending my parents on a 10-day cruise on the Zenith in December 2006. The really want certain shore excursion (Panama Canal by Ferry). The X site had been saying excursions available on or AFTER April. The web site still says not available and will not allow me to download brochures. .....Called X shore excursions and they said not available for booking until August. To you experienced cruisers....does that sound right ....that December shore excursions are not available until August ? Just want to make sure my parents are not locked out of their chose of excursions.

We have booked shore excursions before on-line for our past cruise and I remember that there was a limit on how far in advance you can do it. We are booked for Dec 2006 Constellation cruise and cannot book a shorex on-line yet.

When we booked the Panama Canal Ferry (on-line) last year for our Horizon cruise, it had spaces still available when we boarded the ship. The Canal by railroad was the one that sold out fast--must have been from on-line booking. The railroad trip has the advantage of climate control. The ferry trip has an air conditioned deck (1st deck) and a top deck that was canopied but open to the humidity. But the ferry trip has the advantage of watching the canal in action up close and personal.....

Hi,

We're booked for an October Mediterranean cruise. We tried to

book ship's tours listed on the website, but were told that

Celebrity's policy states that the cruise must be paid in full before

tours can be booked. Our final payment isn't due until the end of July.

We'll just wait and hope for the best.

We did the Canal by Ferry from Zenith last year and enjoyed it; you get a unique perspective on the Canal from the smaller ship ( the ferry).

There should be no problem booking the excursion as the ferry has lots of room.

Hope that's useful.

Chicagolass, Don't know who told you that, but I'm booked on Constellation in September/October and I have not totally paid my fare. I was able to book excursions on the Celebrity website, paid for them and received my confirmation that the tickets would be in our cabin upon arrival. Only one port, Sydney Nova Scotia, did not have any excursions yet. Keep trying.

Good luck. agabbymama

Hi, there seems to always be discrepencies about how far in

advance you can book excursions:eek:

Sometimes it is within 90 days.....sometimes shorter, sometimes

longer.

Being as we are in April though, I am not surprised you can't book

them for a December cruise.

When I sailed Summit back in October they seemed to be editing

our excursions for a LONG TIME. I remember because it was

inside the 60 day period before I could book anything.

Other cruises I have been able to do it much earlier.

Just keep checking. Hope this helps:)
