Hello from the Legend Transatlantic crossing

Here we are on Day 2 of the crossing and it is wonderful, as usual. The weather at sailaway last night was perfect, the music playing, the champagne flowing and THE Captain - Geir-Arne Thue-Nilsen - was there walking around greeting everyone. It was a perfect sailaway, but we did miss our friends Denyse and Ken who could not make the trip at the last minute because of Denyse's back surgery - take care Denyse and get well fast. The crew is fabulous and the food for our first dinner, simply wonderful! We are now off to trivia, without our usual team of "Comeback Cruisers" and that will be really tough. We miss you Dan, Phil, Kit, Joanne -- what can we say -- when they see us they say, where's the rest of your group??? There are lots of passengers we have met before on crossings - there were familiar faces everywhere.

More later - off to the fun.

Good luck with trivia!!! Have a bloody mary for me! Let us know some of the questions that are asked... HAVE FUN!

CeeJay, The Captain has not posted any pictures to his website since April 17 and I am suffereing from withdrawl not knowing photo-wise what is going on ourLegend!!:( He mentioned problems with his website's server in his last photo upload. I just hope he does not have too many MB of pictures that is causing the server problem. Since you can post, tells me the problems GrannyLorr has been having on the Spirit in the Indian Ocean and Arabilan Gulf hopefully are satellite issues local to the region? I hope the Captain is able to resolve the problem. I hope whatever the Wi-Fi problem is, it gets resolved quickly for the entire Seabourn fleet.

I wish good weather, calm seas, blue skies, good Trivia, awesome sunrises and sunsets in search of adventure to all the Legend Crossers!

Dear Dan

Now it is Day 3 and our trivia team - Geir's Gang - is in 1st place. But only by 50 points and it is SO tough without you.!!! Thankfully, we had the bonus question (one that we have heard before) and that helped a lot - the 6 languages used by the U.N.

Yesterday, Eric asked for the names of the 7 children in the Sound of Music - how tough is that??? We got 2!

We have 2 Americans, 3 Brits, and 3 Canadians (one is Eric's Aunt Brenda).

Paul -

The Captain says he is working on his website so hopefully soon it will be working and if you see a picture of toers - then guess whose they are :)

The ship is completely full - 190 passengers - and 169 crew - and its so much fun being here - but November is just a little nicer because they don't take time away from you.

One to teatime - see you later.

CeeJay, you are doing great! Keep up the great work!:) Appriciate the update and I know the Captain is aggressively working the website issue. Congratulations on your Trivia success so far. But as we both know, you gotta nail the bonus questions every day!

Have a scone with strawberry preserves and clotted cream for me!!!!!:) :D

Well we all just got off the Legend in Ft. Lauderdale, and wish you smooth sailing for your crossing. How is Jennifer (the Assistant TA with the angel's voice) doing? I left her the rest of my Bonine in case the seas got a little rough! Hope things are going very well in the balance department. That long hallway leading to our cabins on deck 5 got pretty interesting when the seas were lively!

Please eat a scone for me with lots and lots of clotted cream and jam. I am missing the handsome waiters in the restaurant who escorted us to dinner every night (most particularly the one who, in my opinion, looks like Christian Slater), and I have to stare at the photos from my digital camera to recall the romance of it all. No one escorts me from the kitchen in my studio apartment to the sofa at dinner time. Imagine that.

If you see Norm tell him Jane said hello....wistfully thinking of you all on the gorgeous Legend....and please have a lovely rest of the week. Godspeed to you all from southern California!

Love, Jane :)

Hi Jane (et al)

I feel I've let CeeJay and others down by not taking part in Team Trivia! In reality, I've probably helped them by not being there but I do feel guilty when sitting in the gorgeous sun and sipping a BBC while my friends are working hard in the Midnight Sun Lounge!

Anyway, here's another photo I took yesterday. The cognoscenti will recognise it immediately. Although the picture looks distorted, it is absolutely unretouched. As Eric says, a prize will will go to the first to identify it - a free cruise (pause) brochure. :)

Would you be able to e-mail me pictures of "April 23rd?" I know you took some unbelievable ones........I would so enjoy seeing them!

Continue to have grrrreat times with grrrreat Seabourn sailors!

Norm,

Aft circular staircase, looking straight up from Epicurean Deck (Deck 3) near globe of the earth. Do I win teh free cruise, pause brochure? Do I get (dis)honorable mention for answering this about 5:04 a.m. local time?

Norm, you really are talented. I immediately recognized one of my favorite sights on the ship, that exquisite spiral staircase, with gleaming brass bannisters, on "our" beautiful Legend. I'm saving this one to my desktop to print out on our color printer, along with your wonderful caviar in the surf pix.

How are the seas? Wondering if Jennifer has had to use the Bonine I gave her! Miss all of you, and the Legend's crew, lots!

Jane

In the current New Yorker magazine is a cartoon showing a passenger standing in the bow of the ship. An officer is standing behind him with a question.

"Is everything O.K., sir? We noticed that you weren't constantly eating."!!

And still no Gianni!

Here we are again - another absolutely perfect day - hot but not too h ot - just a little breeze - blues skies - absolutely amazing.

And now Geir's Gang is in 2nd place (but only by 100 points) and of course we all know this means absolutely nothing at this stage of the game. The bonus question was really tough but we did pretty well - I'm keeping track of all of this for "other" cruises.:)

Norm has not joined us yet - but maybe he will break down soon - since we are having so much fun.

And Captain Geir is checking on "his" team to see how we are doing.

The goat chees souffle is even better - and did I mention that they flew in fresh lobster for the first formal night??? It was incredible.

So we are walking our mile and a bit every morning - but its still not enough to burn off all we're eating. !!

Until tomorrow, when Eric tortures us again.

P.S. No animals have been kidnapped this cruise (perhaps the Chief kidnapper is not on board :).

Now of all things, Captain G-A's Lion is missing. He was last seen at a bridge tour and then suddenly he was gone. An announcement was made at trivia today - and there is a picture on the Captain's picture board showing the bottom of someone's room numbers that look suspiciously like OURS - and the lion stuck on the door saying "Heeellllp me Daddddddy" - so we are being framed! We don't have the Lion - would CeeJay steal the Captain's Lion? There is no way!!

We played shuffleboard yesterday afternoon and it was lots of fun - and then had the deck party in the evening. The food was yummy with the BEST shrimp but the weather got really chilly and some of the ladies had blankets wrapped around them - so we went off to the club where we re-discovered grasshoppers - Magic makes great grasshoppers.

Well - must go for more fun!! :)

We miss you Denyse!

Ceejay, "the best laid plans of mice and men".......you know the rest of the quip.

Intrigue and conspiring on the high seas is fun and makes memories!

Now, who would steal poor Capt. Geir's precious "Look Out Lion????"

Well, it's NOT me! Have a word with Mr. Broadway......

Signed by the hand:
