There is no need to dress up if you don't want. Resort casual attire is deemed acceptable every night. The resort casual dress code applies to all the dining rooms, including the specialty restaurants. Yes, there is at least one optional formal night, but again, formal dress is not required. Perhaps 25-30% of the pax dress up.

The Jewel had optional formal 1 maybe 2 nights. We did the first one which was the first sea day. Dress required is stated as resort casual-I wouldn't consider that dressing up. No jeans, graphic tees, shorts, baseball caps.

No, you do not have to dress up.....all you have to remember is no jeans,no tank tops, no T-shirts and no shorts in the formal dining rooms...... capris, skirts, etc you can go very casual......:D

As for no jeans etc, on the sun not only was it posted at the entrance to every restaurant but I didn't see one person in jeans. We did dress formally the formal night or rather formally, certainly more than resort casual. We wore sun dresses all but one night in the specialty restaurants and capris in the main dining rooms. Most of those in the specialty eateries were wearing sun dresses or nice slacks for the guys, but we did see nice capris and docker type pants with sport shirts or polos. NMNita

On this next cruise (leaving within a week now :)) on formal nights we'll dress a nicer than just capris or dockers but we definitely will not be dragging the tux and long formal dress with us on this trip. That's what's so nice about Freestyle....it's your choice...formal or resort casual or anything in between.

No need to dress up unless you want to. My husband wore dockers and I wore a sundress or pants and a top.

We didn't dress up at all (and it was nice not to have to). DH wore dressier khakis and golf shirts each night and I wore dressy pants or capris and a nice shirt or sweater.

On our cruise (Sun 4/1) there were a group of football players that were not allowed in the restuarants because they didn't have anything but jeans or shorts. They borrowed dresses and accessories from individuals up and down the hall......they caused quite a stir but were welcomed into the restuarants. The were fun group of kids.

We have done both. Dressed in long dresses, suits and white shirt w/tie and felt comfortable on formal night. However, we prefer dressing semi dressy, black evening pants and beaded top and white shirt/tie with no jacket. Any level of dressy clothing is acceptable.
